The is the first review I've felt compelled to write in a while. The bed is soft and the foam is very thick. At first I was worried that the foam would be less dense and my dog would be able to feel floor however when a grown person like me lies on the bed and still doesn't feel anything I think my 40 pound dog would be just fine. Very happy with my purchase. Would definitely recommend.
